BA
TYPHOON LEG
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS
Procedure
-
1. Undo the 4 bolts and LED connector and remove the existing
XR wing.
2. Remove the two bolts from each leg and remove till you have your wing like this.
3. Thread the LED wire through the new typhoon leg and then bolt both new legs in place with the bolts provided (No. 2).
4. Stick
on the new foot gaskets supplied (No. 1).
(Note - this can not be done until the bolts to attach to the wing have been
done up as they cover the holes needed).
5. If fitting just the two legs you can now bolt the wing back on with the bolts supplied (No. 4).
FITTING MIDDLE LEG
1. Place a strip of masking tape along the wing so that the inner edge is 10mm down from the back edge of the LED, this will guide you as to where to position the middle leg, then make a mark on the masking tape to show the centre point of the wing (this can be found by looking at the LED, there is a mark on the middle of the LED which can be used as a mark).
2. Place another peice of masking tape to the leading edge of the wing so you can mark another centre point, you can easily mark this by using a piece of A4 paper lined up with the back edge of the LED).
3. Attach two pieces of masking tape to the middle leg and mark the middle point on the leading and trailing edges of the leg.
Bolting the Centre Leg
4. Hold the leg in place, lined up with the reference points marked and at the edge of the masking tape 10mm down from the LED, and mark the two holes on the wing through the holes in the leg.
5. Drill the two holes out with a 4.5mm bit on a 45 degree angle.
6. Then
use the bolt supplied (No. 3) to then cut a thread into the holes in the wing.
Note - A 6mm tap would be ideal but this can be used if you do not have one
available.
7. Attach the centre leg with the two remaining bolts supplied (No. 2) into the holes you have just tapped, then remove the backing from the double sided tape with the blade of a knife.
8. Re-fit wing to car with the four bolts supplied (No. 4) then reconnect the LED.
